Flat 2

Also located near the airport almost under the airstrip. I imagine what may happen if theres an accident...

This is a bigger flat and with better space distribution but it also looks as it has not been maintained since it was first rented. Drawers don't shut properly, wood finish is coming apart in some places, glass is cracked in some places looks abandoned... Oh forgot to say in the previous post both this and flat 1 have no aircon. Both are also very far from work.

Bedroom viewed from the living room with the kitchen to the left. At least I have a fan on the ceiling... The fridge/freezer in the kitchen is destroyed the freezer shelf fell down as i opened the fridge door... The space for the tv is ridiculosly small so I would have to buy another tv as the one i have would not fit there.

Kitchen: again no extractor fan (dont these people cook?). Something must be said in favour of this flat: there's plenty of storage space... Cupboards everywhere...(when their doors open of course).

This bathroom looks much better...however my knees will probably get bruised from sitting on the loo...I have to remember not to put the toilet rolls in the drawers...haha
the shower is also electrical (i hate those things!) but at least on this one you get more shoulder space.

Very good working space!! Big closet next to it.

More storage space!!! This one between the bed and work space.

All this for the bargain price of R$1,500
Price includes: water, gas, 1 parking space, maintenance fee (dont know where thas going...) council tax.

Issues: away from work, may die from a plane crash without being on a plane, fridge/freezer, no extractor fan, bruised knees.

Flat hunting

Saw 4 flats today. Here is the account illustrated

Flat 1
Located near the airport right underneath the route to the airstrip. Small with weird diagonal walls.

Notice that the drainer hangs over the floor. I wonder what happens with the water from the wet plates. Underneath the sink and cooker theres the fridge and a small cupboard that does not close properly.

Thats the view showing the living room/kitchen to the right. No extractor fan in the kitchen. Sofa has probably been there since th 50s.

Thats the other view from the front door to th living room. The workspace is that shelf to the left. It is quite low so I believe the former tenant must have been a dwarf.

This is all the cupboard space!!!

This is a nice picture of the loo that the state agent sent me. Muuuccchhh nicer than reality. There is mould on the ceiling and there is no room for turning inside the shower (which is electrical and you risk getting electrocuted).

The bedroom. Aside the diagonal wall it is not bad.

All this for the bargain price of R$1,600 pcm
Price includes: water, gas, cable tv, internet, maint. Fee and council tax

Issues that bothered me: no proper working space, unless i am a midget. The lack of storage space and the ridiculous bathroom. Apart from the planes of course

Flat 2 in the next post

4:20 am at Rio International airport...zzzzzzzzzz

Since I don't know São Paulo very well I chose a flight to the furthest Airport possible. It's good I am getting there 4 hours before the interview.

Getting butterflies in my tummy...
